Reflexology dates back over 5,000 years and is based on the theory that specific points and areas of the feet, hands, face and ears correspond with different parts of the body. It is a deeply relaxing treatment combining thumb and finger pressure, and massage and linking techniques, that help to restore and maintain the body’s natural balance on a physical, mental and emotional level. After a treatment, clients describe feeling much more relaxed, re-energised, more focused and clear-thinking. Regular treatments may help people suffering from stress and stress-related illnesses.

As well as general reflexology each treatment may include elements of Precision Reflexology, Vertical Reflexology,

Ayurvedic Reflexology, Shiatsu techniques and Traditional Chinese Medicine theory. Kate has also completed a course in Maternity Reflexology.

The first session could take up to 90 minutes to allow for an initial medical consultation. Follow-up treatments are around 60 minutes. It is best to wear loose trousers that can be rolled up as a calf massage can be included.

Initial consultation and one-off sessions: £45

Repeat booking: £40

This powerful form of bodywork originates from Japan and is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. Shiatsu means finger pressure in Japanese but thumbs, palms, elbows, knees and feet are also used to soften muscles, relieve tension and redistribute stuck energy. It is often described as a combination of deep-tissue massage and acupuncture without needles.

Aspects of physiotherapy and yoga also feature to mobilise joints, stretch out muscles, ligaments and fascia, and bring the body back into balance. A deeply relaxing and often energising experience, Shiatsu is a holistic therapy and takes in the mind, body and soul. It is particularly good for alleviating neck and back pain, stress-related conditions and maintaining wellbeing. Receivers often describe feeling more integrated in their body and more grounded and connected to themselves.

The bodywork is performed on a futon mattress and a specially designed body cushion for greater comfort, which is particularly good for those with neck and back issues. It is best to wear comfortable clothing such as a long-sleeved top and leggings or tracksuit, and preferably socks. The receiver is fully clothed and no oil is used. The first session may be up to 90 minutes to allow for an initial medical consultation.
